The Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee investigating high level state corruption and security breaches has announced that it will officially write to renowned private investigator Paul O’Sullivan. The committee aims to request his urgent return to the witness stand to complete his testimony, which was left unfinished during previous sessions. Members of the committee emphasized that O'Sullivan’s insights are vital to closing the gaps in their current investigation, particularly regarding the infiltration of law enforcement agencies by criminal syndicates. O’Sullivan, who has a long history of taking on powerful figures in the South African police and government, originally began his submission several weeks ago. However, the proceedings were interrupted due to time constraints and the need for the committee to verify certain classified documents he presented. The committee chairperson noted that while they have gathered significant evidence from other whistleblowers, O'Sullivan’s ...

Australian photographer Matty Smith has secured the top honor at the prestigious Underwater Photographer of the Year 2026 contest with his stunning image, Rockpool Rookies. The photograph, which captures a pair of southern elephant seal pups in a shallow rockpool on the Falkland Islands, was selected as the overall winner from a massive pool of more than 7,900 entries submitted by photographers from around the world. Smith’s work was praised by the judging panel for its technical mastery and its ability to tell a poignant story of survival and nature’s resilience. The winning shot was captured on Sea Lion Island during a moment Smith describes as the defining moment of his trip. He spent days observing dozens of seal pups that had recently been weaned and abandoned by their mothers a natural stage in their life cycle where they must teach themselves how to swim and navigate the ocean. On his first evening at the site, the sky ignited with color, allowing Smith to frame the curiou...

Former U.S. Treasury Secretary and past Harvard President Larry Summers announced his retirement from Harvard University on February 25, 2026. The decision follows a formal university review into his long-standing personal relationship with the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.  Summers, who had been on leave since November 2025, will officially step down from his academic and faculty appointments at the conclusion of the current academic year. A Harvard spokesperson confirmed that he will not return to the classroom or take on any new student advisees during the remainder of his tenure. The university's investigation was prompted by a massive release of government documents and emails that revealed a much closer connection between Summers and Epstein than previously known. These communications showed that the two men maintained a friendly relationship for years, including personal exchanges about politics and romance that continued long after Epstein's 2008 conviction. ...

The search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84 year old mother of Today show Co anchor Savannah Guthrie, has entered a critical and desperate new phase. After more than three weeks of searching without a breakthrough, the Guthrie family has announced a $1 million reward for any information that leads directly to her safe return.  Savannah shared the news with a heavy heart, emphasizing that the family is willing to do whatever it takes to bring their matriarch home after 24 days of agonizing uncertainty. Nancy Guthrie was last seen in late January, and since then, local law enforcement and volunteer search teams have scoured the area where she was last spotted. Despite the use of drones, K-9 units, and extensive door to door inquiries, investigators have struggled to find a solid lead.  The length of time she has been missing nearly a full month has significantly increased the urgency of the case, leading the family to believe that a substantial financial incentive might encourage someo...

Following a bruising North London Derby that saw Arsenal dominate from start to finish, Jamie Redknapp did not hold back in his assessment of Tottenham Hotspur’s current trajectory.  Speaking on Sky Sports, the former midfielder described the performance as a complete mismatch, noting that the gap between the two sides has rarely looked wider.  Redknapp pointed to a fundamental lack of tactical identity under the current Spurs management, contrasting it sharply with the disciplined and fluid system implemented by Mikel Arteta at Arsenal. The critique grew even sharper when Redknapp labeled the current Tottenham squad as a team devoid of personality. He argued that the players lacked the fighting spirit and leadership required for a high-stakes derby, appearing passive as their rivals dictated the tempo of the game.  For a club that prides itself on attacking flair, the lack of creative spark and the inability to maintain possession left fans and pundits alike questioning ...

Recent investigations by BBC Verify have confirmed the movement of a United States warship toward the Middle East. This strategic deployment comes at a critical juncture, as Washington intensifies its diplomatic and military pressure on Tehran.  The move is widely seen as a clear signal of American intent to safeguard its interests in the region while monitoring the shifting security landscape. The primary driver behind this escalation remains Iran's controversial nuclear program. Despite years of international negotiations and sanctions, U.S. intelligence suggests that Iran continues to advance its uranium enrichment capabilities, moving closer to the threshold required for nuclear weaponry.  This naval deployment serves as a deterrence first strategy, aimed at discouraging further expansion of Tehran's nuclear ambitions. Beyond the nuclear file, the United States has expressed profound concern over the Iranian government’s recent domestic policies. The brutal crackdow...

Just hours after the conclusion of the inaugural World Peace Committee summit in Washington, D.C., led by U.S. President Donald Trump, a significant shift in local governance appears to be taking hold.  Reports from the region indicate that more than 2,000 Palestinians have formally submitted applications to join a newly structured Gaza police force.  This surge in recruitment is seen as one of the first tangible reactions on the ground to the administrative proposals discussed during the high-profile meetings at the White House. The summit, which took place this past Thursday, focused heavily on The Day After scenarios for Gaza, emphasizing a transition from military conflict to stabilized civil governance.  President Trump’s initiative reportedly outlines a framework where security is maintained by a localized, vetted Palestinian force rather than external military entities.  The high volume of applicants suggests a strong internal appetite among Gazans for a retur...
